The Temporary Skill Shortage Visa is basically designed to address the labour shortage of Australian companies. Recognized Australian companies can invite the candidates to apply for this visa and sponsor them to get the visa grant. The sponsoring employers are required to lodge the nomination application on behalf of the invited applicants.

Applicants must hold the required skill set and fulfil the health, character and all the other requirements of the visa stream they want to apply.

Work (Short Stay) visa subclass 400 is a temporary visa which allows skilled, knowledgeable or experienced person to stay in Australia to do short-term, highly specialized, non-ongoing work, which can support the Australian business and cannot be plainly found in Labour market of Australia or in limited circumstances, participate in the work related to Australia’s interests.

Applicants must be invited by the Australian organization to apply for Subclass 400 Visa. The applicants can stay for 3 months and maximum up to 6 months (limited circumstances) in Australia with this visa.

In order to fulfill the labour shortage the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa subclass 482 allows the Australian companies to outsource the skilled workers from abroad. Three types of skill shortage visa streams are available for applicant to select as per their needs--Short-term stream, medium-term stream and labour agreement stream. Any individual applying for this visa must hold relevant skills and qualification that are essential to fulfil the nominated position sponsored by an approved Australian Employer.
